Deciding how and where to Give

Giving to our general fund allows us to allocate money where it's most needed and where it will be most fruitful. This need could look like making sure our staff who directly support our students or liaising with our partners are getting paid or making sure that students in training have enough to see their course through to completion. Be assured that your gift will always be used to carry out the mission and that we will always be honest about where your donation is going. You can always access our annual financial reports through our website, and if you choose to sign up to our communications, we will send you regular updates on the work.

At Hand in Hand we highly value our regular givers. Many of our supporters choose to give in this way which represents around 25% of our annual income. It allows us to plan and fulfil our commitments to our project partners giving vital support to the children and youth that we serve.

As well as receiving our regular communications you will receive the profile of a child that has been supported through Hand in Hand twice per year. You can give generally or to a specific project.

Imagine being able to cover a student's vocational training course for one year, but not the other. What do you say to that student who has made it that far in their educational journey? Our specific appeals are set up to tackle both significant and urgent short-falls such as this. These campaigns fall under our 100% Promise policy meaning that ALL of your donation will go to your chosen cause* and NONE of it will go to administrative costs.

All our gifts help us in the mission, but if it's personal connection you are looking for, we suggest supporting a project partner. It's satisfying to watch your favourite project evolve and to feel you're part of that. We regularly post updates on all project developments, so you're never out of the loop.

When you give to specific appeals and project partners, that's where 100% of your gift will go (not including Gift Aid). It won't cover office overheads, it will go to the "front-line" of the work.

Along with specific overhead giving, any gift aid received on your giving will be used to help fund our overheads.
